The original inks are by Emanuela Lupacchino.
I saw these inks and immediately knew I wanted to experiment with colored line art and cell shading. I tried to lean into the feminine pop vibe that Gwen Stacy evokes. I chose to use a more muted and limited palette that worked to accentuate the inks.
The cell shading was also a challenge at the time. There was a bit of trial and error to find a balance, but Iām particularly pleased with how the shadow of the crossbody strap turned out.
