This is a page from Moon Girl. In light of the subject matter, I chose a more vibrant palette. Originally I had made the T-Rex an almost neon red, but he overpowered the more muted figures in the foreground. Since the focus needed to be on Moon Girl, I played with making the children’s attire brighter and more saturated to push them to the front.
