So it should come as no surprise that I am an avid reader. (For years the only room I had planned in my Dream House was the library.)

This piece really taught me how to think about depth and how to turn objects so they stay in perspective. It was also a chance to try out quirky furniture design. I think if I were to do this piece again I would focus more on filling the bookshelves than worrying about finding the back of each cubby. I’d also look at adding some more architectural interest. While I still think the haphazard shelves are fun, the lack of visual decoration leaves the space feeling somewhat austere.
